August 10, 1998 UST Enforcement Memorandum- This memo discusses the enforcement strategy tha EPA intends to implement against owners or operators of USTs that fail to comply with the December 22, 1998 UST upgrade deadline.

December 9, 1998 UST Enforcement Memorandum- In this memo, EPA announced that would defer bringing enforcement actions for on-compliance with the December 22, 1998 against certain categories of owners and operators of UST systems.

UST Regulations- This is a link to the UST Regulations promulgated by EPA.

UST Cleanup Guidance Documents- This link provides you with access to the various EPA policy memos and fact sheets discussing how to perform cleanups of contamination caused by USTs.

Upgrading USTs- All existing USTs must comply with UST design standards by the December 22, 1998 deadline. This link provides access to information EPA has published on the upgrade requirements.

Leak Detection- This link provides access to EPA documents which discuss the kinds of leak detection systems that may be used to comply with the UST Upgrade standards.

Closing USTs- EPA has established requirements for properly taking USTs
out-of-service. The EPA documents that explain how to comply with UST closure requirements may be accessed here.

UST Operation and Maintenance- This link provides access to EPA documents
explaining the proper operation and maintenance of USTs systems
 

UST Financial Requirements- UST owners and operators are required to maintain adequate financial assurance. This link provides access to EPA information on the kinds and amount of financial assurance that are available to UST owners and operators.
